Photos While Snorkeling Around Tilloo Cay
The reef off the eastern shore of Tilloo Cay near the house that has
the castle-like tower, was much smaller than the reef at Sandy Cay.
However, we enjoyed it just as much. There were plants and fish
here that we didn't see at Sandy Cay. We saw aquatic plants that
had small feathery fan-like branches that waved in the sea currents.
These plants would withdraw their feathery fans faster than the blink
of an eye if we got too close. Unfortunately, they didn't photograph
well. We also saw sea slugs, seastars, barracuda, and many
other small reef fish that were fascinating to watch.

The house shown above is just south of the small reef at
Tilloo Cay, note the one stone castle-like tower along the shoreline.
In the photo to the right is a seaslug? It was about 18
inches long and about 3 inches in diameter. Below right
is a seastar and below left is a stoplight parrotfish.

During our last trip in 2004, we came across
this Scrawled Filefish shown above. I've outlined it with a red
dashed line so you can see it. If it weren't for the bright, almost
irridescent, blue markings on its side, I don't think I'd ever have
seen it. It's body color blended in with the sea floor so well as
it lay there motionless.
